Abyssinian oil is a natural oil that is pressed from the seeds of the drought-resistant Crambe Abyssinica plant. Native to Ethiopia, this mustard plant made its way to Atlantic Canada via the Mediterranean.

Is your Abyssinian oil sustainable?
Yes! Abyssinian oil is extracted by pressing the seeds of the Crambe Abyssinica plant. The remainder of the stock is rich in nutrients, which can be cultivated as fertilizer and used to feed cattle. For more information on the sustainability of our oil, please visit our Sustainability page.
Can I use your products if I have dry or sensitive skin?
Yes! Abyssinian oil is ideal for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin. Our oil is deeply hydrating and contains natural antioxidants that help repair the damage associated with extremely dry skin. It also helps lock in the ingredients of your other skincare products so that you can absorb and retain their benefits. With a comedogenic rating of 0, Abyssinian oil is very similar to the oil your skin naturally produces, making it unlikely to cause a reaction.
However, everyone's body chemistry is different. Always do a patch test to see how your skin reacts when introducing any new products to your skincare routine.
